Help Young People Fight Corruption in DR Congo
I’d like to tell you a bit more about the Anti-Corruption Research Center (CERC) and an exciting new opportunity we have been given.
CERC works in Eastern Congo providing provide intensive anti-corruption training to young people. Since we were founded in April 2017, we have trained over 70 young people in anti-corruption strategies. For example, just in may 2017 we have trained 25 youth monitors in South-Kivu and enable them to be active agents of positive change championing anti-corruption and transparency in their communities by using technology to monitor the implementation of infrastructure projects and services and support them to collaborate with stakeholders to make sure problems are fixed. The projects monitored within the DRC can be found at DevelopmentCheck App.
Just recently, the GlobalGiving Foundation selected us to participate in its Accelerator, a fundraising opportunity for nonprofit organizations around the world.
In order to succeed, we must raise $5,000 from 40 donors by September 30, 2017. If we meet this threshold, we will be permanently featured on GlobalGiving’s website, where we have the potential to benefit from corporate relationships, exposure to a new donor network, and access to dozens of online fundraising tools.
Please help us reach the threshold of $5,000 from 40 donors! Be one of the first people to make a donation at Global Giving September Accelerator! Your donation will help 180 youth to fight corruption and build integrity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
We’re also going to need your help spreading the word! Please share this opportunity with your friends and family! Thank you!
