Executive Bureau

Heri Bitamala, Executive Director

Heri Bitamala is the Founder CEO of the CERC. His background has included roles across several fields, including anti-corruption, equity and social inclusion, technology, health, and education. For over 8 years, he led programs and projects in South Kivu, North Kivu and Kinshasa. He researched corruption and governance issues, youth participation, equity, and social inclusion.

The Executive Director manages the Management Team, which includes :

  • the Finance and Resources Manager,
  • the Programme Manager,
  • the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager, and
  • the Administration and Corporate Services Manager

Support Services, Admin and Finance Office

Ms Wivine Byamungu, Finance and Resources Manager

Ms Wivine is an experienced Accountant with over 5 years of experience managing finances in the non-profit sector. She holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the Université Protestante Nationale. She soon got more involved with CERC and learned about building integrity within organizations and government institutions.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Office

Musa Nzamu Jonathan, Research, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager

Jonathan is a vibrant, resourceful, and goal-oriented individual. He is a graduate of Public and Private Law from Université Libre des Pays des Grands Lacs (ULPGL GOMA). With over 4 years of experience in implementing justice and rule of law programmes, Jonathan joined CERC in October 2020 to support the implementation of transparency and accountability policies in the DRC’s education, health and justice sectors. 

He is enthusiastic about building a new generation of active, responsible, accountable citizens.

Youth Excel – Youth Represent DRC project

Ms Maganga Masembe Eden, Youth Facilitator and Mentor

Eden is a goal-oriented woman with a passion to end customs fraud that facilitates the entry of drugs and expired food and pharmaceutical products into the country. She holds a master’s degree in food chemistry from the Catholic University of East Africa.

Eden joined CERC in June 2021 as an intern. In July 2021, she was recruited in the USAID-funded Youth Excel program to support youth leaders and youth-led and youth-serving organizations in Kinshasa to conduct quality implementation research; using the data and learnings to improve their own cross-sectoral positive youth development programs.

She is enthusiastic about storytelling, particularly telling stories of success and impact from previously disadvantaged and marginalised groups. She believes that telling positive stories is an important aspect of our work which brings about hope and a voice to communities that feel voiceless.

Ms Matyabo Sifa Muriel, Youth Facilitator and Mentor

Ms Sifa is a lawyer with a passion for social justice and anti-corruption. She holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Kinshasa.  

Sifa joined the USAID-funded Youth Excel program in July 2021 to support young leaders and youth-led and youth-serving organizations in Kinshasa to conduct quality implementation research; use data and learnings to improve their own cross-sectoral, positive youth development programs.

Ms Sifa is enthusiastic about building a responsible, transparent, and corruption-free Congo.

Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons

Ms Nkolonkey Naomi (Intern)

Naomie is a civil society activist passionate about fighting corruption and engaging politicians in improving the national legal arsenal against corruption. She holds a Master Degree in International Relations from the University of Kinshasa.

She joined CERC in November 2021 as an intern to support our team in Kinshasa.

Media Engagement and Advocacy Office

Ms Kikuswe Oriane, Communication and Public Relations Officer (Intern)

Ms Kikuswe is a young and experienced graduate of Social and Business Law at the Université Pédagogique Nationale. Ms Kikuswe’s motivations lie in his desire to build change and transparent governance in DRC.

She joins CERC to attract broad buy-in from government authorities and other non-state actors to support our anti-corruption and integrity building projects. Before joining CERC in December 2021, she spends 4 years working in the Justice sector in Kinshasa.
